PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project was during our housing studio. During this studio we went from designing housing at the Micro scale, in the form of a 600sf ADU to the macro in the form of an 80 unit senior living community. This project is looking at the senior living community and how I interpreted the use of biophilia and color to design a space for joy.

PROGRAM

The site for this senior living community is on an existing campus where there is currently an elementary school and kindergarten. The campus was meant to be a multi generational campus. We were provided with the individual unit layouts and we were tasked with laying them out and their organization.

DESIGN CONCEPT

A big focus for this design was the idea of designing a space that brings the residents joy. I tried to achieve this by incorporating aspects of biophilia in my design. These can be seen in the curved edges.
