EAST BERKELEY DWELLING

Lastly, we created a two unit dwelling for two families in west Berkeley. The units were supposed to incorporate aspects from our bricks, precedent studies and our rooms. My dwelling incorporated a “crack” apparent in my brick where I fused materials together. It also explored the elevation and depression of rooms in order to place them in spaces where the climate would reflect the program. In conjunction to that I carried the idea of dividing space without walls to my whole project and elevated and depressed rooms to hide them from view from one another.
